Hello, I am Hemchand Thalanchery.

Personal:

A programmer by profession and a musician by passion.

I love good music, and it can heal my deepest wounds.

I love computers and I spend most of my time with it.

I love my friends’ company and luckily have some good ones.

I love freedom and have paid my prices. But I still enjoy it.

Professional:

I often confuse myself between a business man and a software engineer. I started my career as a software professional right from college when I used to do projects for overseas clients. While in college a friend and I set up a software company (PulzeStream) and soon after college we shifted the company to Bangalore which we carried on till end of 2004. After that, till mid 2007 I was working on a product development project in the Health Care domain for a Washington based start-up called HealthUnity. During that time I started working on my own venture, a professional networking website Skillda and recently moved on to making a job site, Jobhunt.in. I also worked with another startup SeventyMM Services (an online movie rental company) where I am working on the SCM front for a very short stint. Currently I am working as a Technical Lead in a services company called Encora.

More than a job, I enjoy programming. I never get tired of coding or designing. I am more into Microsoft Technologies especially .Net (starting from beta in 2002 and now onto .Net 3.5 and LinQ). But recently I have turned to Linux and have started exploring a wider horizon. Skillda is built on Linux and developed in Python. If anyone has plans for an interesting open source project and need a helping hand, I would be glad to join in.
